What is Chiropractic?
“Chiropractic” meaning “effective treatment by hand” comes from the Greek word “Chiropraktikos”. While most people know that Chiropractic focuses on the spine, they may not fully understand what a critical role our spine plays in support of our bodies. When we experience misalignments of the spine, it interferes with messages between the brain and all the other systems of the body.
Chiropractic is based upon the understanding that good health depends upon healthy spine and nerves, which are supported and protected by the skull and spinal bones. The posture of the spine determines how quickly a body can adapt to the environment and heal.
Only doctors of Chiropractors are trained to detect, fix, and prevent vertebral subluxations. By detecting and gently reducing subluxations, Chiropractors work with the body, rather than despite or against the body. This allows the body to do what it is supposed to do: self-recover, adapt, and heal.
Chiropractors work with various conditions including: pain in the low back, neck, arm, leg, shoulders, knees, and feet; headaches; athletic and work-related injuries; asthma, ear infections, and many other problems that begin when we are children.
Depends on the number of regions adjusted, but most spinal adjustments are scheduled in 15-minute increments and are between $50-75 . Chiropractic re-exams take 30 minutes and are an additional $65-150. Exams are generally performed at the first, 30 days after, and then every 10-12 visits to determine your progress.
